We recently helped a client who wanted to make a new Will and arrange a Funeral Plan. Our client (initials LK) kindly agreed to record a short video describing the reasons she wanted to make a Will and why she instructed Leech & Co.

(The video was recorded at LK’s home following an appointment in the evening. This took place a few weeks ago and before the Social Distancing guidelines came into force.
Before the guidelines were introduced, we would always visit our clients at their home at a time that was convenient for them. However, at the moment, due to these guidelines, we cannot offer home appointments. We are continuing to help all of our clients using telephone appointments.)
Here is the transcript of our chat with LK:
Leech & Co: What made you decide to make a Will?
LK: Well, I had had a Will before, but then I was divorced so obviously that changed everything so I needed to make another one, which I’d sort of avoided doing. I think I was spurred on by the death of my younger sister because she didn’t have a Will and it was just another thing to have to deal with in quite a difficult period and I didn’t want my children to have to deal with that when I eventually die so it seemed the sensible thing to do.
Leech & Co: OK, so once you’d decided to make your Will, why did you decide to use Leech & Co?
LK: Well, I looked into it and I think the major factor, that made me go with them, was the fact they would do a home visit and fit in with my schedule and I didn’t have to go into an office, I didn’t have to go into town, they would come to my house when it was convenient for me and it was just very easy to deal with.
You know, you contact them, very nice lady came round, saw the same person every time, she was very friendly, she was very efficient, she backed-up everything with e-mails and sent me the documents very timely. I liked her, I thought she was a very nice woman, we had a nice chat and it didn’t actually feel like we were doing a legal document in many ways. It was just looking at my life, what I want to happen in my death and it was quite simple and straightforward.
Leech & Co: Are you happy with the Will that was done?
LK: Yes, I thought she gave me good advice. There were a couple of things I hadn’t thought about that she asked me to think about, you know, she pointed me as to what I should be considering, I made a couple of changes and that was not a problem at all. She sent drafts to me, I checked them and made a couple of amendments, straightaway they came back. It was really very straightforward.
Leech & Co: Would you recommend Leech & Co to family and friends? Would you use them again?
LK: Yeah, yeah I would and I have actually recommended them to another friend because I just thought it was so painless to do it. I think a lot of my girlfriends are really busy women, got families to run, they’re working, having someone to come round at whatever time suits you was great so I would certainly recommend them.
